Should I select a military judge, officer panel or enlisted panel at my court-martial?

It depends.  As an enlisted accused, you have three different options regarding who will hear your court-martial, a military judge, an officer panel or an enlisted panel (in which at least one-third of the members will be enlisted).  As an officer accused, you can choose between a military judge and an officer panel.  This is an extremely difficult and important decision.  Those individuals you select will determine your guilt or innocence and possibly your sentence if you are convicted.  It is impossible to know in advance which forum will be the most beneficial to you.  However, I have practiced in front of each of these forums and can provide sound advice based on your particular court-martial charges and specific circumstances.  Also, because I have defended clients in many different areas of the country, I also may know exactly who makes up your court-martial panel or who will be your military judge.  Let me use my experience and expertise to help you decide which forum is best for you in your court-martial.  This is not a decision to take lightly and I can help you.  To speak to an experienced court-martial and military defense attorney, call Bill Cassara at 706-860-5769 for a free consultation.
